1. What NoNag Does

NoNag is a Safari Web Extension that automatically blocks intrusive “Open App” popups and redirect attempts on websites you visit in Safari on iOS. It works entirely on your device.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Data

We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. NoNag does not have user accounts, does not require registration, and does not track you.

Browsing Data

NoNag operates entirely locally on your device:

• It scans the content of web pages you visit solely to detect and hide “Open App” overlay elements.
• It intercepts certain JavaScript operations (like window.open and URL redirects) to prevent unwanted app redirects.
• No browsing history, page content, or URL data is transmitted off your device.

3. Data Storage

Local Preferences

NoNag stores the following data locally on your device using App Group UserDefaults:

• Your whitelist of websites where blocking is disabled.
• A counter of how many popups have been blocked.
• The last time the blocking rule list was updated.

This data never leaves your device and is only used to provide the extension’s functionality.

Remote Rule Updates

NoNag periodically fetches a JSON file containing updated blocking rules from a remote server. This fetch:

• Does not include any device identifier, IP address (beyond what is required by standard HTTP), or personal information.
• Does not transmit any browsing data.
• Only downloads a static rules file to keep the extension effective against new popup techniques.

4. Permissions

NoNag requires the following Safari Extension permissions:

• All website access — to inject blocking scripts on every page you visit. NoNag does not read or store your browsing content; it only hides specific popup elements based on its rule set.

5. Third-Party Services

We do not use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics), advertising networks, or any tracking SDKs. The extension has no dependencies that phone home.

6. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. As the extension does not collect personal data, it is safe for users of all ages.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
