Masked is a sensitive-data cleaning tool for text, screenshots, and supported work files. It is published by W4N9WE1. This Privacy Policy explains what Masked processes on your device and what information is handled by the services that support purchases and product analytics.
Masked can process text, screenshots, images, and supported plain-text work files such as TXT, Markdown, LOG, JSON, CSV, source code, and configuration files.
Masked’s detection is an assistive privacy tool. It can miss information or flag information that is not sensitive. You should review the result before sharing a cleaned copy.
Masked stores app settings, quota state, and temporary or generated files locally according to iOS storage behavior. The original work file is not overwritten when Masked creates a safe copy.
A file or image leaves your device only when you explicitly use an iOS Share, Save, or Open in Files action. After that, the selected destination controls the copy and its handling. If iCloud Device Backup is enabled, iOS may include app data in that backup under Apple’s services and policies.
Deleting Masked removes its local app data according to iOS behavior. Copies that you saved or shared, and records held by third-party services described below, are not removed automatically.
When Firebase Analytics is configured in a released build, Masked may send limited product-usage events to Firebase to understand reliability and improve the product. These events may include:
Masked’s analytics events are not intended to include the contents of your text, screenshots, work files, safe copies, filenames, metadata, or detected sensitive values. Firebase may also process app, device, and diagnostic information according to Google’s policies.
Free users may see ads provided by Google Mobile Ads. To deliver, measure, protect, and improve advertising, Google Mobile Ads may process app and device information such as device identifiers, coarse location, advertising data, product interactions, performance information, crash information, and other diagnostic data. The SDK may use device identifiers for advertising-related tracking where permitted by applicable law and user choices. Masked does not send the text, OCR content, images, work files, filenames, or detected sensitive values to the ad SDK for targeting.
Masked Pro does not load or request in-app ads. The current iOS implementation does not request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission; ad availability and personalization are therefore subject to the operating system, Google Mobile Ads settings, and the consent choices collected through Google’s certified consent management flow. In regions where consent is required, the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK presents the applicable consent message before ad requests are made.
For more information, see Google’s Privacy & Terms and Google Mobile Ads data disclosure.
Masked uses Apple StoreKit and RevenueCat to provide and verify the optional Masked Pro lifetime purchase and restore access after reinstalling or changing devices.
Apple processes payment details through the App Store. Masked and RevenueCat do not receive your credit card number or other payment credentials. RevenueCat may process an app user identifier, device and app technical information, product and transaction information, and entitlement status needed for purchase, restore, and access synchronization. RevenueCat does not receive the text, images, screenshots, or work files that Masked cleans.
For more information, see RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s privacy policy.
Masked does not require your name, email address, contacts, or cloud account to clean content. We do not sell your content or use the material you clean to train an AI model.
The advertising service receives only the technical information needed for advertising and measurement. It is not used as a cloud scanning service for the material you choose to clean.
Masked is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy when Masked’s features or supporting services change. The latest version will always be published on this page.
